Natalya Shinn

Natalya Shinn a Sydney-based painter was born in Brisbane and has lived in rural and coastal

Queensland including Beaudesert and Currumbin, Wollongong and the Sutherland Shire. She

studied painting at West Wollongong TAFE and the National Art School, Darlinghurst and upon

graduation was the recipient of the Ron Lambert Graduate Award and TAFE NSW Faculty

Award, Arts and Media. Natalya has been a selected finalist in numerous leading Australian art

prizes including, the John Olsen Drawing Prize, the Fisher Ghost Art Prize, the Broken Hill

Regional Gallery Outback Art Prize and the Pirtek Still Life Prize. Primarily a landscape painter,

Natalya approaches the landscape from multiple perspectives. Her re-imagining of these vistas

has led to an amplification of colour and simplification of form. Natalya has been awarded art

residencies at Hill End Butchery through the National Art School and Hazelhurst Regional

Gallery and Arts Centre. Natalya has exhibited in multiple group and solo shows.
